NHS Test and Trace - Private Secretary – Private Office

The NHS Test and Trace service is central to the government’s coronavirus recovery strategy. It is designed to enable life to return to as close to normal as possible, for as many people as possible, in a way that is safe and protects our NHS and social care. It brings together testing, contact tracing and outbreak management into an end-to-end service.

We have some exciting opportunities to join the team and are looking for people to join us from across a range of professions and experiences.

These Private Secretaries will play a key role in supporting the Executive Team. The successful candidates will play a key role in the process of policy development and progressing key operational issues, working closely with the Executive Team, the senior NHS Test and Trace team and colleagues across government.

  • This role will require you to support senior members of staff who are predominantly based in London or Leeds. Therefore will require travel into one of these offices weekly with the potential for some working from home.

  • This role may require some out of hours working.

  • Whilst this advert is for one role, there is the potential that multiple roles could become available.

Responsibilities These roles will be varied, challenging and stimulating, working in a fast-paced dynamic environment in a member of the Executive Teams office.

  • Providing a high-quality service for a member for the Executive Team, personally delivering key priorities and communicating those effectively to teams;

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Executive Leadership of NHS Test and Trace and their private offices to collectively drive forward work, understand risks and help operationally deliver;

  • Build understanding of the policy areas within your remit and build and maintain strong working relationships with the teams working on these issues, helping them to interact successfully with a member of the Executive Team.
